The Associate Post Graduate Dean Office

The Associate Post Graduate Dean Office is appointed by and reports to the Board chair office and is in charge of overseeing the operations of the academic division comprising the conventional mode of learning regarding the postgraduate school. The associate post graduate dean office shall have the following duties and responsibilities:

 

  • Oversee the overall academic activities of the postgraduate school in the conventional mode of learning;
  • Provide support to departments and programs to promote excellence in teaching-learning, and research;
  • Ensure the preparation and administration of institutional standard exams conducted by the quality assurance;
  • Chair key Academic commission committees and graduate council meetings;
  • Give support to and oversee the activities of the Associate registrar and alumni affairs Office;
  • Provide support to department chairs and/or faculty deans in implementing strategies and policies related to course and program development and teaching-learning and assessment issues;
  • Organize and facilitate skills upgrading workshops and training for PG staffs and students;
  • Work with the board chair office and other schools to promote diversity within the college and to support existing college programs designed to create a welcoming environment to everyone;
  • Give support to institutional endeavors toward attaining the college vision.
  • Recommend to the board chair the appointment and promotion of officers in line with college legislations;
  • Oversee the standards of student admissions are met;
  • Ensure that the staff members are engaged in community services;
  • In consultation with the board chair, recruit and terminate contracts of the academic staff in the regular and extension divisions;
  • Oversee the activities of all operational units reporting to the associate post graduate dean office;
  • Facilitate the formulation and implementation of postgraduate school plans at strategic and operational level; and
  • Do some other duties as may be assigned by the board chair.
